94 reserves, 7,700 acres!!!
Building on the 12 new reserves we created last year, 2010 has started auspiciously for the EBC. We have already protected 4 more reserves.
The Macdonald family donated 121 acres protecting a km of South Saugeen River near Ayton.
Jack Adams donated 39 acres at Cameron Lake.
We received 4 new conservation agreements from the Edwards and Springer families in late 2009 and early 2010.
EBC has now published a hiking guide for Manitoulin Island. Copies are available.
Bob Barnett discovered a Ram's Head Orchid on out Ice Lake reserve while building the new trail. This is our 59th rare and endangered species to be discovered on EBC nature reserves. The trail is now almost complete and we hope it will be opened in July.
Escarpment Views features EBC's Freer Point Reserve as its centrefold picture. They offer our supporters a donation of $5 with every new subscription that mentions EBC. Escarpment Views provides its readers with a good overview with what's happening on the Escarpment and has featured our Escarpment Conservancy several times.
